CYBER THUNDER YOUNG GUNZ RULES

1.   INTRODUCTION

Above all - HAVE FUN! The ultimate purpose of this league is to enhance the enjoyment of NASCAR 2003 for those of us who play it. Young Gunz uses the Nationwide 2009 Mod for racing on our race server. Download this mod in the Cyber Thunder downloads page, under the Mods section.

2.   SERVER DONATIONS

Racing on quality servers is not cheap. CTR would GREATLY APPRECIATE any donations Young Gunz drivers could provide. We're not asking for any specific amounts, but every little bit would help. If you are interested in making a contribution, click the PayPal link on the Cyber Thunder home page.

3.   LEAGUE SIGNUPS / REQUIREMENTS

Anyone can join the Cyber Young Gunz series. It is the entry point for league racing at CTR. A steering wheel and pedals are required. This is not an XBOX game and will not be controlled like one.

4.   FORUM

All new members are required to register in the forums and to review forums on a regular basis. League announcements will be made there and not by mass e-mail. If you want to know what is going on, check the Young Gunz forum.

5.   MIDSEASON DRIVER ADDITIONS/ATTENDANCE

If you join after the season has begun you will be given provisional points for the races which were missed. The provisional points will be added after your first race.

7.   CAUTIONS

NO RACING BACK UNDER YELLOW UNLESS 10 OR LESS LAPS REMAIN. Under caution, all cars must maintain their position and order on the track, and follow your spotter's instructions on where to line up. YOU MUST CLAIM RESPONSIBILITY FOR YOUR CAUTIONS. If you cause a caution, claim it. If you self-spin, run into someone else, etc., claim it. A simple text chat saying "mine", or "SS" (self-spin), is good. If it's definitely your fault, please be curteous enough to apologize. If you cause a caution or are involved with one and don't know if you were at fault, you must restart at or near the end of the longest line. You can speed on pit road to get an EOLL penalty, or pit and wait until everyone else has left pit road. If someone pits later and comes out behind you, that's their decision and that's fine.

8.   LUCKY DOG

After taking the yellow flag and when the leaders are lined up behind the pace car on the backstretch or in turn 3, the lapped car which is highest in the current race standings will be announced as the Lucky Dog. The Lucky Dog is awarded whenever we do not race back under caution, meaning if a caution comes out with more than 10 laps remaining. Regardless of how many laps down, the Lucky Dog driver will be required to do the following:

1 Enter pit road their time by.

2 Speed somewhere on pit road (safely) to get an End of Longest Line Penalty (EOLL).

3 If EOLL penalty is not given, drop to rear of field after restarting.

4 After taking green, lap will be given back by admin.

9.   <10 LAPS TO GO

IF the race is going to take the green flag with 10 or less laps to go, all lapped drivers must drive down pit road (don't have to enter your pit, you can just drive through). This is done to get lapped cars toward the end of the pack to avoid causing problems with the leaders.

10.   RESTARTS

When the green flag flies the race has begun. You may not pass until the back stretch. This is a learning series, and you need to learn how to start a race. Do not lay back to get a run on the car in front of you. If you are a slower car, the smart thing to do is drop to the bottom to get out of the way of the faster cars on the restart. Using Ventrilo will help because you can let others know of your situation. We ask that you maintain a tight pacing line with no more than 0.2-0.3 between cars. The RS policy for Young Gunz is really simple. There are NO Restarts after lap 3. IF the Admin on duty feels that there should be a RS, then it will be restarted. Recommendation to all drivers is start all races within your abilities and save the racing for the end of the race. This policy will be strictly ENFORCED.

11.   VENTRILO

Using Ventrilo is up to you, and your connection quality, but it is strongly recommended for all racers.

12.   QUALIFYING

No chatting during qualifying! Chat messages are a distraction to drivers trying to run their best qualifying lap. If you just can't wait until the end of qualifying, at least wait until the final 10-20 seconds of the qualifying period before chatting "nice lap", etc.

13.   BLACK FLAGS

The race admin has the discretion to remove black flags or give back laps. They also have the discretion to issue black flags and give lap penalties. This will only be done if the circumstance can be verified. Do not constantly ask for laps back or a penalty be waived. Ask one time. If it can be verified that it does need to be waived, it will be done.

14.   CTR FLAMING POLICY

Absolutely no flaming! This is just a game and people do make mistakes. If you feel it was on purpose, take it up with the race director in private. Use of profanity, in any form, towards another driver will be considered flaming. Even if it is question directed to another driver (i.e. Why did you ram me in the ___? Abbreviated forms of profanity will also not be tolerated. (i.e. wtf, wth, bs, fu). The following are the penalites to be issued for violating the CTR flaming policy.

**** Penalties apply across all CTR Divisions ****

1st Offense Warning

2nd Offense 50 point deduction/probation

3rd Offense Race Ejection/Race Suspension

4th Offense Removal from CTR

15.   LAPPERS/BLOCKING

Lapped cars are expected to let faster cars go by, especially cars on the lead lap. Intentional blocking will not be tolerated, whether or not you have been lapped. Blocking is permitted with 10 or less laps remaining as long as your blocking moves are not drastic, cause the car you are blocking to loose control, leave the track or cause an incident resulting in a Caution Flag. The most preferred method of blocking is to just hold your line and this will force the car that is attempting to pass to go around you.

16.   AGGRESSIVE DRIVING

Rough or careless driving will be noted and reviewed. Warnings, point penalties, suspension, or removal from league are possible reprimands.

17.   REVIEW COMMITEE

The Review Committee (RC) is a pre-determined group of drivers from within CTR. The primary purpose of the RC is to make racing within the league fair, equal and fun for one and all. When incidents are reported to the RC, the replay will be sent to 3 of the RC members for review. The 3 members for a given event will report their opinions to the League Director who in turn will report the outcome. You must submit a replay and your complaint to CTR Review Committee within 48 hours of the race in question. No other forms of protest will be accepted.

18.   DRIVER EXPECTATIONS

All racers of Cyber Thunder Racing League are expected to race with respect for their fellow competitors, adhere to all rules and use common sense. Any and all members of Cyber Thunder that feel that they have an issue should address it to the RC for review. This should be done in private as to not to cause turmoil within the league and to show respect to each of you as members of this league. Once the RC concludes its findings, you will be addressed by email of those findings. Penalties imposed on all racers will be posted on the main forum for one and all to see. This is not to embarrass a member but to show that the RC is involved and that when necessary, will take action to insure this league remains fun for one and all and to hopefully help it grow to be the best SIM racing league running NASCAR 2003 Racing season.

19.   HARD-CHARGER REQUIREMENTS

To be eligible for Hard-Charger bonus points, the driver must attempt a qualifying run. If a driver does not post a qualifying speed, then that driver will not be eligible for the bonus points.

20.   WARPING/DISCONNECTS

If you are warping and it is causing problems with other drivers (constant jittering or frequent blinking), you must move out of the way and go to the back or go go your pit until your connection gets better. Use CTRL-C in-game to show your connection meter. If you warp out briefly and come back a lap down, the lap will be given back. If you lose your connection and return to the race, you will be given laps back until you are 1 lap below your previous position.

21.   PROVISIONALS

Provisional are unlimited. You need to request a provisional if you can not make a race. Provisionals should be requested in the forum before the race is run. Provisional when awarded will be equal to the first position behind the last place car in the race. Provisionals requested after a race is run will be awarded but at 1/2 the points.
