CYBER THUNDER Thursday Night Thunder RULES
| 1. INTRODUCTION: | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
All rules governed by the NASCAR Racing Season 2003 simulation will be followed. TNT relies upon our fellow drivers to help "police" the masses. If you see someone breaking a league rule, please save the replay and forward the clip to the league admins with a brief explanation of which rule was violated. No rule violations will be discussed during the race! Wait until the race is over and send the admins an email or post a message in our Forum. The Forum is our primary mechanism for any discussions about the league. Very little email is ever sent. |

| 2. SERVER DONATIONS: | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Racing on quality servers is not cheap. Currently CTR has one individual who pays all the monthly payments to blademan.net. CTR would GREATLY APPRECIATE any donations TNT drivers could provide. We're not asking for any specific amounts, but every little bit would help. If you are interested in making a contribution, email Beaster-CTR and he will give you the necessary information. |
| 3. LEAGUE SIGNUPS: | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
ALL drivers must read and understand the rules on this page. A maximum of 30 drivers will be allowed to signup. All CTR league drivers with a moderate skill level are allowed to sign up. You must be signed up to race. All new drivers will be on a 3 race probation. |
| 4. IN-ACTIVE DRIVERS: | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Drivers who do not show up for 3 races in a row without notifying the series admin via email or Forum post will be removed. EMERGENCIES are understood! |
| 5. RACE SETTINGS | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Most of TNT league races will be at 1.5mi and larger tracks. The following settings will generally be used.
| 6. SERVER CRASHES/HICCUPS: | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
1. If the server hiccups or crashes and 50% or more of the remaining field gets booted, and the server does not come back up within 15 minutes then the race will be either cancelled or rescheduled. 2. If a driver loses connection during the race they may reconnect and continue to race. They will be awarded all but 1 (one) lap back and must race for the Lucky Dog award for the other. This will only be awarded once per race. |
| 7. YELLOW FLAGS: | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
1. Racing back to the line will be allowed! After taking the yellow, DO NOT hit the brakes immediately! Coast through turn two and carefully catch up to the pace car or slow down and wait for the pace car if needed. No reason to hit the brakes! Any accident that occurs after the yellow has come out will result in an automatic 2 race probation plus -5 points for the responsible car.
2. Lucky Dog Award: The first car a lap down that does not bring out the yellow will be given a lap back. The driver must do the following: A complete pit stop their time by Re-enter the track early and pick up an End of Longest Line Penalty (EOLL) If EOLL penalty is not given, drop to rear of field after restarting After taking green, lap will be given back by admin 3. 1 (one) competition yellow will be thrown by the admin to close the field and provided for closer racing. The lap for this yellow will be announced prior to the start of the race. It will come after the midway point and before ¾ of the laps are completed. 4. Any driver who self spins 3 times will be required to park for the duration of the race. A self spin is defined as losing control of the car and spinning on/off the track. A car that starts to spin but is saved and continues on is not considered to have spun. A spin does not have to bring out a caution to be counted. If you start to spin, save it and then are hit by another car, this does not count as a self spin. |
| 8. PACE LAPS/RESTARTS: | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
All drivers must maintain no more than a .5 second gap between cars during the one to go lap under yellow flags. Brake checks and jumping of the restarts will not be tolerated and will result in administrative action. However jumping the restart does not include hitting the gas a split second before the green. This is just anticipating the green and protecting your lead and is allowed in NASCAR. |
| 9. CHATTING: | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Chatting will NOT be allowed while the green flag is out. The only chat allowed during the green flag is auto-chat. Even if a driver is attempting a whisper and it appears on the other driver's screens, the penalty still applies. Drivers will be able to chat after they have taken the yellow flag and settled into position. All discussions should take place after the race in the CTR Forum or chat room if available. Violation of this rule will result in a point deduction of -10 pts per line typed. |
| 10. QUALIFYING: | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
A) Once the qualifying session begins, there is to be no chatting at all (even auto chat). Chatting will be allowed once the Warm-up session begins. B) No tire shall touch the grass at any time during the qualifying run and burnouts or pre-warming of tires are prohibited. Replays will be asked for by drivers at random. If you are caught violating Qualifying rules, you will face up to a race suspension. |
| 11. FLAMING: | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
NO FLAMING AT ALL! We have an !eject command, and will use it, if need be. |
| 12. LAPPERS: | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Drivers should at all times have the F2 Display on their screen to see when faster cars are approaching from behind. Lapped cars not in the lead draft and are trying to stay on the lead lap do not have to let the lead pack by. However courtesy dictates you should hold the high line or drive below the yellow line when the lead pack approaches and race for the LD award. |
| 13. <10 LAPS TO GO: | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
IF the race is going to take the green flag with 10 or less laps to go, all lapped drivers have to pit (don't have to fix/change anything). This is done to get lapped/damaged cars toward the end of the pack to avoid causing problems with the leaders. |
| 14. AGGRESSIVE DRIVING/BLOCKING: | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
1. If you feel someone if being far too aggressive, please send a replay of the event(s) in question. If a driver is found by the admin to be "too aggressive for the situation", - points/action will be taken on a case by case basis. 2. Blocking is defined as erratic or sudden moves to keep a faster car from passing. Blocking with more than 10 laps to go will not be permitted and may result in being Black Flagged. Blocking to protect your position with less than 10 laps is permitted. |
| 15. REVIEW COMMITTEE: | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
The Review Committee (RC) is a pre-determined group of drivers from within CTR. The primary purpose of the RC is to make racing within the league fair, equal and fun for one and all. When incidents are reported to the RC, the replay will be sent to 3 of the RC members for review. The 3 members for a given event will report their opinions to the League Director who in turn will report the outcome. You must submit a replay and your complaint to CTR Review Committee within 24 hours of the race in question. No other forms of protest will be accepted. |
| 16. TRACK RULES: | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
1. Driving Below Yellow/White Line: Drivers will not be allowed to place a complete tire under the yellow/white line in an effort to gain positions on any track.
2. Low/High Line Driving: Low/High Line Driving is defined as completing 3 or more laps in the preferred line to avoid being passed. Most tracks the low line is the preferred and fastest however on some track tracks the high line is. You Must run at least one lane off the preferred line (high or low) unless passing. Being held down/up by a second line of cars ie: side by side racing is not considered low/high lining. Low/High line driving with less than 10 laps is permitted. |
| 17. MID-SEASON RESIGNATIONS: | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
If a driver decides to resign form the league, either via race chat, Forum or email to a league administrator, that driver will not be allowed to race for the rest of the current season. The driver will not be allowed back, EVEN if the decision was made in anger. Think before you leap! |
| 18. CAR FILES/SIERRA IDs: | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Two car files will be allowed for the season. There may be a mid-season update. Sierra IDs must remain the same for the entire season you are running. We use StatPak to figure out the standings, and changing Sierra IDs is too time consuming. |
| 19. POINT SYSTEM | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
1. Drivers will be allowed 3 provisionals. Provisional requests must be made in the appropriate forum prior to the event. By doing so, you will be awarded points equal to 1 position behind the last place finisher. If you do not ask for a provisional, no points will be awarded. 2. CHASE – The chase will be the last 8 races of Segment 3. All points for the year will be totaled for the chase. The top 10 drivers will be in the chase.
